#PRCN2020: Don't Give-up on the Free Puppy: Lessons learned on Integration

Presented by

Melodi Moore, University of Texas Medical Branch, USA

About this talk

In 2015, the University of Texas System gifted its 13 institutions Pure for three years. It was at this time, I first heard the phrase, "Never accept a Free Puppy". The explanation is that the puppy is never really free and the time and cost related to training and taking care of it, will far outweigh the initial cost of purchasing the puppy on your own. We at UT Medical Branch were unfamiliar with the term and were excited about the possibilities that Pure offered. I will share our experiences about how we started integrating Pure with local systems and the successes and challenges we faced. I will also talk about future goals and plans we have for integrating Pure and other systems.
