We've passed the one-year mark of the COVID-19 pandemic, yet organizations within global gaming continue to confront a wide range of legal concerns and situations that arose during the past year's unprecedented shutdowns, lockdowns and restrictions. Functioning in a constantly shifting reality where legal experts still face heightened cyber/data privacy threats caused by remote work, must consider adjusting business interruption insurance policies and rarely-used force majeure clauses, implement new rules and policies for work environments and interactions with customers and more, the pandemic has both revealed numerous areas of risk that have changed the way many gaming companies operate and has created a level of uncertainty of what additional risks the future might reveal. This session will begin by evaluating several new best practices that have emerged as a result and discuss how industry can better prepare for the future and the threat of another similar situation.
