There are problems that even the most powerful classical computers are unable to solve because of their scale or complexity. Quantum computers may be uniquely suited to solve some of these problems which could lead to new scientific breakthroughs such as better and cheaper medicines, methods to diagnose diseases sooner, new materials to make more efficient solar panels or other devices, and improved financial models that better capture value from the market.
But what exactly is quantum computing, what are the properties that make quantum computing advantageous, and at what types of problems are quantum computing best suited to solve? This session will provide a practical introduction to quantum computing concepts and applications.
