About this talk

Edge computing brings many of the functions of cloud data centers closer to the IoT endpoint devices. This can help address many of the challenges facing traditional networks such as latency, network bandwidth, security, reliability and data gravity. This session will explore some of the hot trends, applications and future capabilities of edge computing. It will consider edge use cases, architecture for edge nodes and edge systems, trustworthiness, and implementation techniques. Special emphasis will be placed on why edge computing is valuable, how it can supplement cloud computing, edge-specific hardware and software, and the current state and likely future paths for edge computing deployments.
