We believe that “patterns” is a term that you can see nowadays at every corner, in neuroscience, artificial intelligence, data science, architecture, etc. So, it is everything but nothing? Because of this, practitioners have the impression that patterns are of no practical use and are more something for academia. However, this is wrong. Architectural patterns or design patterns can be very helpful when it comes to solution design, especially in complex environments or new domains.
Patterns provide an implicit and replicable view of system development. When experts solve a new problem in a given context, they do not develop an entirely and distinct new solution. Instead, they recall a solution and reuse the essential parts of this solution to solve the new problem.
The Industry IoT Consortium (IIC) aims to accelerate and optimize technology innovation by reusing existing patterns. The inherent knowledge of experts, provided in a compact form, may power new solutions across industries. IIC has introduced a Patterns Collection Initiative for knowledge exchange, patterns discussions, and an ecosystem of support that helps find new approaches to driving innovation.
Please join us for this Webinar to learn
• What are patterns?
• What are the benefits of pattern usage for architecture design?
• How to identify, create and use patterns?
• What are pattern examples?
Member experts of the Industry IoT Consortium’s Patterns Task Group will share examples of Patterns developed by IIC members and discuss tools and methodologies for patterns development and application. The team will share information on our Patterns Collection Initiative and how patterns are being used in industry today.
