You’ve checked your application's health status, and everything looks good. But your users still can’t reach the cloud service. That’s usually the point when SRE and DevOps teams are called in to help.

But the only way they can set the record straight is with data—and lots of it. That includes anything from metrics, histograms, traces, and span logs to verify service uptime, to being able to identify issues within specific regions, browsers, and devices, track service performance, and manage SLAs and SLOs.

In this webinar, we’ll show you how Catchpoint and VMware Tanzu Observability work in tandem to do just that by:

    - Optimizing business success with enterprise observability. We’ll show how you can combine visibility with your website traffic, so you can simulate (or view real-time) users' behavior with advanced analytics across the stack.
    - Proactively identifying customer-facing issues. This includes customer experience testing and synthetic testing to distributed tracing, Kubernetes monitoring, and multi-cloud infrastructure layers.

We hope to see you there!

  • Cómo iniciarse en Kubernetes con VMware Tanzu Recorded: Mar 4 2021 48 mins
Antonio Gallego, Solution Engineers, VMware & Jose Manzaneque, Solution Engineers, VMware

  • It’s pronounced ‘DevOps.’ The ‘Sec’ is silent Recorded: Feb 26 2021 44 mins
Dormain Drewitz, Sr. Director, Product Marketing, VMware
"I have a DevOps team, so why is it still so painful to release software?"

DevOps has been a hot buzzword for a decade. Like Agile before it, many now claim to be doing some degree of DevOps. But looking more closely, software release processes are still slow and manual.

A common roadblock in making the path to production frictionless and automated is security. Late-stage security checks catching vulnerabilities that need rework. Lack of adherence to security architecture requirements. Manual approaches to remediation. Combined with ever-growing concern over security breaches and the need to solve for the security in DevOps is heightened. Hence, the rise of DevSecOps.

Arguably, if you're doing DevOps right, you've solved for security. But, clearly, that's not happening on its own. In this talk, Dormain Drewitz will discuss:
    - Why the measures of success don't change from DevOps to DevSecOps—but are critically important
    - What technologies support secure software delivery
    - How a product mindset facilitates continuous improvement in the face of change

  • Get Thee to the Cloud: App Modernization vs Cloud Transformation Recorded: Feb 23 2021 62 mins
James Watters, CTO, VMware Tanzu & Kit Colbert, CTO, Cloud Platform BU, VMware, Dormain Drewitz, Sr. Director, VMware
“Go to Cloud” is becoming a board-level mandate. But that can mean a number of things, from the application architecture to the operating model to the infrastructure itself. How do you as a technology leader make sense of this very broad request?

Meanwhile, the pandemic has accelerated digital business initiatives. Ultimately, it’s the application that delivers new capabilities to customers and employees; but transformation occurs at several layers to support those applications. Often certain technology choices force you to change all the layers together, at the same time, creating more complexity and taking longer to realize business value. At VMware, we see our customers navigating three transformations, each of which supports digital business, cloud transformation, and app modernization at different levels.

In this talk, James Watters and Kit Colbert will discuss how the cloud mandate breaks down across:
    - Creating a better (digital) customer experience to drive more top line revenue
    - Delivering these updates faster and more securely
    - Optimizing infrastructure costs by closing datacenters and moving workloads to cloud
  • From First Principles to the One-Factor App Recorded: Feb 22 2021 56 mins
Rachel Stephens, RedMonk, James Watters, VMware, Padmaja Vrudhula, VMware, & JT Perry, Premera Blue Cross
Being an IT leader today can be overwhelming. You’re probably being bombarded with the latest technology fashions and paradigms, from microservices and containers to AI and low-code to reactive and serverless. With this backdrop, it can be easy to lose focus of what you need to do: deliver business value.

When faced with a crowded technology landscape, many business leaders use “first principles” to make decisions that drive their business. A first principle is a basic assumption that cannot be distilled any further. We can apply this notion to technical paradigms, including the 12-factor app, a methodology for building modern, cloud native software.

In this webinar, Rachel Stephens, industry analyst at RedMonk, will discuss how to apply first principles to software delivery and application modernization, and what we mean when we say the one-factor app. Join the conversation along with James Watters, VP of Strategy at VMware, Padmaja Vrudhula, Senior Director of Product at VMware, and JT Perry, Vice President Business Transformation at Premera Blue Cross as they discuss:

    - What first principles thinking is
    - Applying first principles to an automated software delivery model
    - Change in management philosophies
    - What we mean by the one-factor app
    - The minimum viable approach to containers

  • Démarrez votre plateforme Kubernetes avec VMware Tanzu Recorded: Jan 28 2021 55 mins
Alexandre Roman, Platform Architect, VMware & Guillaume Morini, Senior Platform Architect, VMware
