Ops groups can’t give developers what they need when they are limited by traditional service delivery mindsets and tools. Stability and reliability are however now table stakes when you’re releasing software daily. What developers need from Ops is innovation. Traditionally, Ops rarely adopted an innovation-driven, product approach to providing services and instead focused on delivering to specifications and limiting SLAs. As with development however, Ops can create value with continuous operations, by product managing their platforms and releasing frequently.
