  • Networking and Security are Converging in the Cloud: Are you Ready? Recorded: Jul 13 2021 50 mins
Roopa Honnachari, Industry Director at Frost and Sullivan & Karl Brown, Senior Director of Product Manager at VMware
In Frost & Sullivan’s Global Cloud survey, 52% of the respondents said they have deployed Cloud IaaS and 42% said they currently use hybrid cloud. While cloud adoption continues to grow, enterprises have generally struggled to implement and maintain a secure, high-performing WAN that allows for efficient access to cloud-based applications across their user base. If you consider the distributed nature of enterprise applications, and now the increasingly distributed nature of employees working from home, the traditional branch networking method of backhauling traffic (from users and devices) to a centralized location is highly inefficient.

Furthermore, the rise in remote working and distributed users accessing cloud-hosted applications means that the enterprise perimeter is no longer limited to users within the company site. Think about it: if your applications are in the cloud, and the users are at home or at a branch location (spread across the globe), why is your organization’s security sitting at the headquarters location? The traditional model is time-consuming with subpar performance and a poor user experience. Secure Access Service Edge, or SASE, aims to address the need for a centralized, software-defined security architecture when the apps and users are highly distributed. SASE combines the flexibility of SD-WAN with a full suite of virtual security services, all delivered from the cloud.

Please join VMware and Frost & Sullivan for this webinar to learn about:

  • Rise Above Uncertain Times with SD-WAN Recorded: Mar 25 2021 57 mins
Low Kum Seng, Deputy Director of Product Marketing, CITIC Telecom CPC | Joe Lee, Solution Engineer, VMware
The World Bank predicted that the global economy will grow 4% in 2021, with emerging markets outpacing developed ones. The recovery within and across countries will be sporadic given the risks and uncertainties of outbreaks and new COVID-19 strains. Companies that operate in such a global environment will need to be even more agile to quickly enter new markets, expand, downsize, or exit totally when necessary. It is thus critical for IT to support business with a software-based network architecture that can quickly enable the workforce and reduce capacity when downsizing occurs.

Join us in this webinar where CITIC Telecom CPC and VMware will discuss how we can help you to be more agile and competitive in such uncertain times.

  • Optimizing Remote Worker Connectivity to Cloud Applications Using SD-WAN Gateway Recorded: Feb 17 2021 37 mins
Roopa Honnachari, Industry Director at Frost and Sullivan & Michael Leonard, Product Manager at VMware
In the 2019 Frost & Sullivan Global Cloud end-user survey, 57% of the respondents indicated they have deployed Cloud IaaS and 41% say they currently use SaaS applications. Increase application availability or uptime, and deliver applications faster to users, are among the top five reasons businesses are embracing cloud. However, implementing and maintaining a secure, high performing WAN that allows for efficient access to cloud-based applications can be costly and complex for enterprises, whether large or small. SD-WAN solutions automate the process of network selection and put traffic steering control in the hands of your organization’s network administrators to do direct internet breakout to cloud-based applications.

VMware SD-WAN offers a unique approach of a cloud-hosted SD-WAN service with cloud-based gateways that complements branch deployments that provides connectivity for cloud and SaaS applications while eliminating the challenges of deploying and maintaining SD-WAN appliances in the cloud. The SD-WAN gateway approach has been even more significant in the current COVID-19 situation as remote workers connect to cloud over residential broadband links.
