About this talk

A recent study conducted by ESG found that almost 9 out of 10 surveyed organisations would need to update their cybersecurity programmes for cloud-native applications and their use of public clouds, so as to gain consistency across hybrid clouds. As data and applications increasingly move to the cloud, many organisations are faced with the unique security and compliance challenge of putting new security investments into securing their hybrid environments that blend existing IT infrastructure and public cloud. In this context, decision makers across security, IT, application development and the boardroom need to rethink their approach to security. How will your organisation tackle the challenges associated with securing your hybrid cloud environment? Collaboration and agile ways of working are crucial for security to successfully keep pace with the velocity of continuous integration and continuous application delivery processes (CI/CD) and practice. In this context, defense-in-depth approaches need to be modernised, harnessing Zero Trust principles to deliver an integrated and layered security strategy made up of people, processes and technology. In this Red Hat episode, ESG senior analyst Doug Cahill will be joined by Lucy Kerner (Director, Security Global Strategy and Evangelism) and Dan Juengst (Product Marketing Lead) to discuss the challenges involved in securing hybrid clouds and share their insights on how defense-in-depth approaches can be modernised to bolster security across the stack. Join Doug, Lucy and Dan as they explore: - Understanding the composition of the modern datacenter - Identifying hybrid cloud security challenges - Why developing a culture of collaboration is crucial in modernising your cybersecurity approach that bolsters your security posture across hybrid clouds. - Best practises on how to approach security in the context of hybrid cloud - And more
