About this talk

Tightening monetary policy doesn’t necessarily preclude equities and fixed income from having a good year. The hawkish pivot by some developed market central banks is telling of a regime change in markets, leading to the fastest rotation from growth into value stocks since the Global Financial Crisis. Diversification will become increasingly important with equity exposures across quality, value, and growth historically providing resilience to portfolios amid a turbulent macro backdrop. In the first half of the webinar, our equity research experts Aneeka Gupta and Mobeen Tahir will discuss the three key themes impacting equity markets in 2022 and how investors can tilt portfolios accordingly. For bond market participants, the start of 2022 has been marked by a risk-off sentiment driven partly by the start of less accommodative monetary policy for some major central banks. Investors are currently getting paid more for taking risks since the start of the year and this is creating new opportunities in bond markets for asset classes that have previously shown to be more resilient to rising yields. In the second half of the webinar, our fixed income research experts Lidia Treiber, Didier Haenecour, and Piergiacomo Braganti will discuss the three key themes impacting fixed income markets in 2022 and how investors can adapt their portfolios to be more resilient to rising bond yields.
