About this talk

Increasingly, production in UHD and HDR is becoming the ‘gold standard’ across vast areas of M&E. Whilst UHD can undoubtedly yield impressive results for viewers with sufficiently large and high-end screens, it is HDR that is often delivering the biggest ‘wow factor’ for content ranging from natural history factual to lavish costume dramas. And with many streaming services now stipulating UHD and HDR deliverables, the onus is on content creators to enable work in these formats as fluidly as possible. Updating workflows to deal with these new requirements can be a complex and costly exercise, and in an era of greatly increased competition it’s even more important to make the right choices. From on-set capture and post through to distribution and storage, it’s vital that content creators have the kit they need to establish effective and efficient workflows. In this IBC 365 webinar, a panel of industry experts will discuss the key issues informing the development of UHD and HDR workflows, including: - The extent to which UHD and HDR require a complete renovation of existing post workflows - Whether it’s possible to undertake a meaningful phased migration to UHD and HDR - Requirements of the primary equipment in post for handling these formats - Expectations of how the cloud will shape UHD and HDR production in future, including for post and subsequent storage of these memory-intensive formats - Whether UHD (4K)/HDR is likely to be the gold standard for many years to come – or will there also need to be mass support for 8K in the near-future?
