5 Ways to Protect Remote Workers From Account Takeover

In today’s enterprise journey to digital transformation, remote work is on the rise. Advancements in technology make it possible for employees to work from anywhere, but also introduce a new set of challenges for IT departments. Unsecured WiFi networks, unmanaged personal mobile devices, and phishing scams make it easy to steal user credentials and difficult to securely manage geographically dispersed teams.

While the concept of remote work is not new, it is becoming more prevalent for modern businesses. Recent global events are driving these numbers even higher, making it imperative for organizations to set processes and systems in place that not only secure remote workers, but do so without hindering productivity. We are already seeing hackers taking advantage of the current state of business uncertainty with targeted phishing attacks. Companies need to rapidly increase security planning for workers outside of organizations. But where to begin?

Join this webinar to learn five critical ways companies can protect their remote workforce from common vulnerabilities such as credential theft, account takeovers, and phishing attacks. In this webinar we will discuss best practices for protecting applications and systems such as:

- Identity and access management (IAM) platforms
- Remote VPN access
- Computer logins
- Password managers
- Authenticator applications

  • State of cybersecurity in Europe during the Covid-19 crisis Jun 29 2021 9:00 am UTC 60 mins
Bettina Vahl, Senior Channel Sales Manager, Yubico
According to Europol, the Covid-19 health crisis has sparked an upward trend in cybercrime. Hackers and malicious actors thrive during a time of crisis, and the last several months has offered fertile ground to take advantage of the vulnerable, including those who are working from anywhere. A recent Yubico Research study conducted a survey of more than 3,000 employees across the UK, France and Germany to gain an understanding of the attitudes towards remote work, personal devices and the potential cybersecurity gaps that exist. And the results offer fascinating insights into the use of work-issued devices for personal matters, sharing and remembering business passwords, the adoption of two-factor authentication (2FA), and other security measures.

Register for this webinar to learn about:
-Shaky security practices in enterprises and their remote workforce today
-The state of cybersecurity across sectors such as Financial Services, Healthcare and IT/Telecoms
-Cybersecurity gaps across countries such as the UK, France and Germany
-How businesses can protect customer accounts with strong two-factor (2FA) and multi-factor authentication (MFA)

  • Modern approaches to remote identity provisioning across civilian agencies Recorded: May 20 2021 62 mins
Jeremy Grant (former NIST), Jeff Phillips (Yubico), Blake Hall (ID.me), Andrew Sheedy (Entrust)
While PIV is standard across civilian agencies, strong authentication gaps do exist. For example: non PIV eligible users, mobile device users, remote workers, or citizen-facing digital services. These gaps, if not closed, can result in successful cyber attacks that can have devastating consequences. Recent attacks such as Solarwinds and the Colonial Pipeline have highlighted the need for strong authentication across all infrastructures, applications and services, as outlined in the new Executive Order from President Biden on improving the nation's cybersecurity.

The Covid Pandemic also restricted the ability to perform in-person identity proofing for issuing identity credentials, broadening strong authentication gaps across the civilian government. Ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-63B guidelines, identities need to be verified and trusted, and a strong cryptographic credential needs to be bound to that identity. To provide the strongest Identity Assurance Level (IAL), Federal Assurance Level (FAL), and Authenticator Assurance Level (AAL), civilian agencies should look to alternate authenticators using trusted hardware devices with trusted identity credentials as well as alternate identity proofing processes
Attend this roundtable with Yubico, ID.me and Entrust are working together to offer remote identity provisioning of strong authentication alternate credentials to civilian agencies to enable them to close PIV related authentication gaps and comply with the new executive order

  • Shape user behavior to drive MFA best practices with Axiad Airlock and YubiKeys Recorded: Apr 22 2021 44 mins
Jerome Becquart, COO, Axiad Percy Wadia, VP of Product Management, Yubico
With many organizations supporting a hybrid/remote workforce, deploying authentication solutions to dispersed users can be challenging. Users often lose their credentials, let them expire, or don’t follow security policies – all of which are exacerbated when organizations implement more credentials to meet varying business needs.

Organizations are looking for better and more efficient ways to improve security, while encouraging users to adopt best practices and enhance productivity. Airlock, an Axiad Cloud feature, enables users to comply with company-assigned directives, such as issuing a new credential, updating a certificate, or taking the latest security training by shaping user behaviors. YubiEnterprise Services helps organizations procure and distribute Yubico’s phishing-resistant hardware security keys to remote and in-office workers. Attend the webinar to learn:
-How Axiad and Yubico empower organizations to adapt to the security demands of a hybrid/remote workforce
-Expert insights on driving teams to adopt security best practices and overcome the logistical challenges that come with it

In this virtual event you will learn:
-The considerations to begin a zero trust journey in your organization

Perraju Nadakuduty (Capital One), Vaibhav Gupta (Capital One), Emily Hopkins (Capital One),Jaime Dal Porto (Yubico)
Recent high-profile security breaches have shown how cyber criminals are actively exploiting expanded network perimeters and weak authentication implementations to drive successful identity phishing attacks across financial services. The New York Department of Financial Services Report on the 2020 Twitter hack outlined how the hackers exploited remote working and application-based multi-factor authentication (MFA). While any MFA is better than none, not all MFA is created equal.

In this panel discussion originally presented March 31, 2021, Perraju Nadakuduty, Identity and Access Management, Vaibhav Gupta, Identity Solutions and Security Lead, and Emily Hopkins, Product Security Manager from Capital One, and Jaime Dal Porto, Head of Customer Success from Yubico, to learn what strong authentication really is, why it’s key for enterprise-wide identity assurance, and best practices to future-proof your identity and access management strategy.
