It’s clear that the world witnessed a highly accelerated rate of digitalization in the last year or so. We saw a shift to newer, more agile, and more resilient, remote-friendly environments and faster adoption of “digital” processes almost overnight. How much will we return to “business as usual”? How have energy companies and utilities adapted, and what could be next?
Utilities that started digital programs before COVID-19 hit, have been more resilient. In the upcoming months many will need to reconsider their technology priorities to be able to reduce O&M costs. And this can be done by using analytics to create risk profiles that generate improved asset-maintenance cycles.
IIoT technologies can improve field operations, reduce crew sizes, improving both safety and efficiency. Remote troubleshooting could do the same. With the travel restrictions in place, remote supervision might play a bigger role in the construction of new sites. Join our speakers to find out how to accelerate digitalization in energy and utilities.

Many businesses around the world have been running their mission-critical applications and workloads on SAP. As digital transformation is getting inevitable for all organizations, one of the demanding needs to truly embrace digital transformation is to modernize SAP in the cloud.
Each SAP user has a unique journey. One size does not fit all. But the major tenets of cloud migration are the same for all and the business owners need to know them to jump-start their SAP migration.
Hitachi Vantara with Amazon Web Services invites you to join the webinar SAP on AWS: Improve Efficiency While Reducing the Costs to align your cloud migration with your business. Learn about the benefits of SAP on AWS:
Agility: Provide flexible storage sizes for SAP workloads to quickly scale up or down as per the changing demands.
Scalability: Start small and grow at ease with quick time to market both for new initiatives and production systems.
Resiliency: Set up high availability and disaster recovery with higher uptime guarantees.
Security: Managed security services to secure the environment quickly and efficiently with additional levels of security.
Cost Savings: Best cost benefits with no upfront Capex and only recurring monthly fee as per the usage.

The last 18 months have emphasized the importance of the move to the cloud environment, as we transition from an industry that’s largely on-premises to one that can support hybrid work environments and withstand increased market volatility, whenever it arises.
And the benefits are well known - modernization of our legacy infrastructures, weathering regulatory change, and bolstering operational resilience to reduce operational risk and address cybersecurity. However, compiling compliance obligations for a cloud migration, and balancing risk in that move, is no mean feat.
In this lively discussion, Virginie O’Shea of Firebrand Research, Suranjan Som of Hitachi Vantara, and Nirvana Farhadi, RegTech Pioneer and Expert, discuss interconnected risks, operational resilience, new technologies, factors for success, and more:
• The recent impact that the oversight of cloud has on financial institutions’ operations
• Factors driving the rapid move to the cloud, and associated compliance objectives
• How firms are balancing compliance obligations with the digital transformation agenda
• Upcoming regulations – is there a Chief Cloud Officer in our future?
• Recommendations and best practices for success

High quality data is the foundation of the information-driven enterprise. But challenges persist to unlock the potential of that data: It is complicated, siloed and distributed. Consequently, companies do not take advantage of most of their data today – in fact, only around 2.5% of all data is actually analyzed.
Join Mark Burnette and Anand Rao to learn about how open connectivity and automation lets anyone involved with data avoid tool proliferation, escape low level coding and shrink time to value of their big data projects.

Modernizing the core itself doesn’t differentiate an Enterprise, it’s the ability to deliver personalized experiences, value-added data and insights, and ancillary services that extend from a modernized core that makes an Enterprise stand out. Building a strong agile and adaptable core to plug and play with modern data management strategies and data science expertise can help you open new markets and new ecosystem for your Enterprise. In this webinar, learn how organizations are changing business models to innovate and power growth. Join us to understand how enterprises are keeping “experiences” and “business outcomes” top of mind to drive their digital strategies around edge, cloud and data.

Is duplicate data weighing you down? For many organizations, duplicate data makes up a significant portion of their data lake operating cost. It arises organically – analysts and scientists improve a data set they’re working on, save it, continue, save it again. Their peers do the same. The next thing you know, you have 10, 25, 100 copies of a data set, with minimal true differences. Updating one without changing the other copies leads to bogus results, leaves sensitive data unsecured and even adds unnecessary cost pressures. In the past, cost to maintain duplicate data were covered by IT. But with moves to public cloud, funded with your op-ex budget, these duplicates become materially cost prohibitive. Duplicate data is also a risk for data breaches and other regulatory violations. It does no good to defend the “production” version, if the other copies are less protected.
In this session we’ll discuss Lumada Data Catalog, and how its Data Rationalization feature can help you discover and tame your duplicate data.
