How GRCIE is Transforming the Cybersecurity and GRC Learning Experience Using Emergent Technology There are 4.5 million open cybersecurity jobs globally. While this should provide ample opportunity for potential workers, almost all security roles require 1-2 years of experience often leaving people who have invested in degrees in cybersecurity or certifications without a way to gain employment in the industry. GRC for Intelligent Ecosystems (GRCIE) pronounced “Gracie” is the next generation for learning, training and educating diverse GRC workforces. We have created an immersive simulation-based training curriculum that leverages advanced problem-solving methods and complex cognitive tasks to deliver an immersive learning experience. We attempt to simulate real-world scenarios for performing GRC tasks in virtual reality to practically apply their learnings in the Apprenticeship and eventually their future companies. Half of GRCIE’s curriculum is delivered via VR and we have begun work collaborating with clients. We provide the richest meld between what the GRC industry needs with the student's full education. GRCIE marries leading-edge research from the fields of cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and discipline-based education best practices and deliver a highly energetic, engaging, interactive user-centered learning experience designed to prepare our students to be fit-for-purpose on their first day in their new role. We provide this in-depth immersive education tuition-free for students. As a result, GRCIE envisions a cybersecurity landscape transformed by a diverse workforce bringing new ideas to the industry.
