Over the past several years, the global privacy landscape has changed dramatically, particularly in the United States. Since 2018, the United States has enacted six comprehensive state privacy laws: the California Consumer Privacy Act (amended by the California Privacy Rights Act), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, and Iowa’s consumer privacy law. We anticipate more state bills to follow. Join us as Hunton Andrews Kurth partner Lisa Sotto discusses the current privacy landscape in the U.S. and what is on the horizon. From an overview of current laws and privacy considerations, to global trends, this program will highlight key privacy issues for businesses.
