  • The killer app in digital transformation is human connection Dec 1 2020 10:00 am UTC 54 mins
Margaret Dawson VP and Chief Digital Officer, Red Hat | Kris Pennella Snr. Manager for for Red Hat Open Innovation Labs
Digital transformation is no longer an option. Every organisation knows it must become a digital leader to survive and thrive. Businesses and governments are investing trillions of dollars in new technologies. Organisations must build and deliver exciting new software applications to continuously innovate, move quickly, adapt, and stay ahead of the onslaught of digital data, experiences, and channels.

Accordingly, we’ve seen the rise of cloud computing, open source technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and many other innovations. However, roughly 70% of all new software or IT projects still fail. That’s because technology alone does not solve digital transformation. It doesn’t address the fundamental issues that block or drive transformational success, and the most critical dependency—the people.

In this webinar, Margaret Dawson, Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for Red Hat, and Kris Pennella, Senior Manager for Regional Consulting Services and Red Hat Open Innovation Labs Practice Manager, reveal the elements of digital transformation that technology can’t resolve and why human connection is critical to success. By providing examples of what digital leaders do differently, they'll discuss six human factors to transformational success.
  • Enento Monolith to Microservices with Quarkus, CRW, Tekton & ArgoCD on SRO Nov 25 2020 11:30 am UTC 60 mins
Rasheed Amir (CEO-Stakater), Eero Arvonen (Solution Architect & Platform Owner-Enento) & Tero Ahonen (Principal SA-Red Hat)
Accelerating Monolith to Microservices transformation with Quarkus, CRW, Tekton & ArgoCD on SRO (Stakater Red Hat OpenShift)

Companies undertake the journey to migrate their monolithic system to microservices to increase the new features while lowering the cost of these changes.
In this webinar we will discuss how Enento (UC AB) accelerated this journey, using Stakater RedHat OpenShift (SRO). With SRO, Stakater delivered an OpenShift platform ready for Day 2 DevOps.

For the application runtime, the team used Quarkus, the Kubernetes Native Java stack, enabling a low footprint for their application as well as lightning fast scale up capabilities.

We will look at how Red Hat Code Ready Workspaces provided the development team a consistent, secure, and zero-configuration development environment, using kubernetes and containers. This unleashed developer productivity, and gave way to rapid experimentation and quick feedback for new features under development.
Kubernetes-native CI/CD was implemented with Tekton and ArgoCD, leveraging Kubernetes best practices for deployment patterns and GitOps workflows. This further saved developer time and effort that would otherwise have been spent on development of pipelines.

  • How to drive the transformation journey through an open organisation approach Recorded: Nov 4 2020 54 mins
Pierluigi Scardazza EMEA Sales Lead, Red Hat | Jos Groen Business Unit Manager, Axians
The world has changed, and digital devices and services connect the planet and offer customers more choices than ever before. Business leaders understand that digital transformation is critical to ongoing success. However, legacy technology, outdated processes, and separate IT initiatives can stall or even halt transformation before a business achieves tangible benefits.

There is the potential of better living through software–if businesses can get there fast enough. The approach organizational leaders take toward transformation will impact their success or failure. The key to success is laying the foundation for continual transformation. Join this webinar to learn how collaborative cultures, open and transparent processes, and industry-tested, open tools provide the agility and security needed to support transformation—today and tomorrow. We’ll discuss:

    - People, people, people
    - Open organization principles
    - Modernization opportunities
    - Use cases from the real world
  • Securing Red Hat OpenShift Containerized Applications At Enterprise Scale Recorded: Oct 13 2020 58 mins
    Jody Hunt, Vijay Arungurikai
Joint webinar and demo with Red Hat and Cyberark shows how to simplify and enhance the security of OpenShift with CyberArk secrets management solution, Conjur, and out-of-the-box certified integrations.
The session provides technical overviews of the Red Hat and CyberArk solutions for securing OpenShift clusters. The demos highlight the four main approaches developers can use to secure secrets in their OpenShift clusters: APIs, environmental variables, push to Kubernetes Secrets and Secretless Broker.
  • Effective Disaster Recovery Strategies for Kubernetes Recorded: Sep 30 2020 59 mins
    Rasheed Amir; CEO @Stakater
Join Rasheed Amir, Kubernetes evangelist and CEO at Stakater, as he discusses how companies are taking advantage of kubernetes when it comes to DevOps for their mission-critical cloud native applications. These applications however will have business requirements for near 100% uptime and availability. In the event of a disaster, the applications need to continue to be available and perform without a hitch. For DevOps engineers with non-containerised as well as containerised architecture background, it is important to understand the components and strategies they need to consider for effective disaster recovery for Kubernetes.

    You will learn:
    - Some concepts and terms to consider for disaster recovery business needs
    - Kubernetes architecture for ensuring fault tolerance and high availability
    - Factors to consider while creating a Disaster recovery plan
    - The components for which to implement backup and restore
  • Simplifying Security for OpenShift and Ansible Environments with CyberArk Recorded: Sep 30 2020 60 mins
    Dave Meurer, Joe Garcia
Joint webinar with Red Hat and Cyberark shows how to simplify and enhance the security of OpenShift and Ansible environments by leveraging CyberArk’s out-of-the-box certified integrations.

The session explains the CyberArk solutions for both OpenShift and Ansible and includes demos for Ansible. The session also highlights how to leverage and adopt security industry best practices while avoiding impacting developer velocity, including why it’s a best practice to supplement the native secrets management capabilities of OpenShift and Ansible with a centralized platform.

Note, for a demo heavy webinar on OpenShift, also see the follow-on webinar: Securing Red Hat OpenShift Containerized Applications At Enterprise Scale.
  • Effective Decision Maker's Guide to Kubernetes Recorded: Sep 16 2020 59 mins

Kubernetes comes in various shapes and sizes since one size does not fit all. We will review the factors to consider when choosing Kubernetes, based on factors such as business need, in-house technical capability, cost considerations, and others.

    You will learn:
    - How to identify your organization's requirements for a Kubernetes platform
    - The concerns that need to be addressed to fully realize the benefits of Kubernetes
    - How to choose between self-hosted and managed distributions.
    - Possible impact of the strategy on your Dev or Ops teams.
