Turning Monolithic Code Into Micro Services

Presented by

Dominic Walsh Presales Consultant at Micro Focus

About this talk

Mainframe applications written in the last century were typically architected in a manner where the programs were written in a monolithic fashion with each providing multiple business services and dealing with the mainframe environment such as the transaction manager or database. On the positive side these business processes are performing vital work and are robust and stable. As organisations move to the digital world, these business services are required to be accessible from the new front-ends. In this session we will show you how to use Micro Focus tools to find those business services in the monolithic code, extract the right code elements and create a new Micro Service that can be deployed in modern architecture.
