About this talk

Life after a career in the military can be scary and frustrating, yet successful. Join us for this second in a series of interviews where we hear directly from a veteran about his experiences and how he made the transition. Listen in as Mark Casper, Executive Director and President of Tech4Troops, has a one-on-one conversation with Marshall White, a former US Army Military Officer 1LT Signal Corp, who was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. This webinar will discuss his trials, tribulations, and success story of transitioning from college ROTC to the Army and eventually to the civilian workforce. White will share his reflections on the importance of 1) researching careers options to figure out what career you want before you leap into civilian life; 2) plugging into resources to support your efforts; 3) maximizing connections with organizations that have proven success in working with veterans; 4) avoiding burnout; 5) adapting to civilian work cultures. Tech4Troops helps both transitioning active duty and veterans, including reserve, guard, and auxiliary service members and is dedicated to empowering veterans with computers, skills, and information technology (IT) workforce training. Bio: Marshall White Marshall attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia where he was a member of the Army ROTC. He was later inducted as a 1st LT in the US Army, where one of his favorite memories was being deployed overseas to Germany for Operation Atlantic Lion in 1983.
