According to GSMA Mobile Economy Report there will be almost half a billion unique mobile subscribers in LATAM by 2025. There will be approximately 60 million new subscribers by 2025 with ½ coming from Brazil and Mexico. 4G will surpass 50% of all connections in the region in 2020 and 5G will reach almost 10% of the population by 2025. Wireless infrastructure is largely deployed in LATAM, however there are several geographies in the continent that are lacking coverage. Wireless internet is the only way to connect end-users, yet new infrastructure is required which is often expensive. Data is super important to end users, the throughput users will generate and require is significant.
Parallel Wireless, Inc., the U.S.-based Open RAN software company is delivering the world’s leading cloud-native, All G - 5G, 4G, 3G, 2G - Open RAN solutions which are agile, flexible, and easily scalable. With software at the centre of the Open RAN network Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in LATAM will have unprecedented opportunities to bring down complexity, enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Parallel Wireless solutions have been deployed with many MNOs from across the globe and throughout the LATAM region.
For any LATAM MNO that would like to see Parallel Wireless Open RAN platforms in action, we will be participating in the TIP Field Program at INATEL University in Brazil, in partnership with TIP, TIM Brazil and INATEL. This Program will be described further during the webinar.
