Ask An Event Manager: Carl Ford, IoT Evolution Conference and Expo

While many conferences and events have difficulty with gender equity, diversity and inclusion on stage, so-called “deep tech”, where women and other under-represented groups may represent a smaller portion of the workforce, are frequently the hardest pressed. Some shows have made a concerted effort to be more inclusive. For this edition of “Ask the event manager”, we’re talking with Carl Ford, the conference chair for the IoT Evolution Conference and Expo. At past IoT Evolution events, Carl and his team presented conference themes around Edge, Smart City, Industrial IoT, and IoT in general. This year, they also included a focus on 5G, 6G, LoRaWAN and CBRS / Private networks. As we all get ready for 2023 events, we’ll talk about what goes into organizing a deep tech event, and what speakers and subject matter experts should consider when applying to speak.
