About this talk

The Red Hat® Coffee Hour with Intel series is a monthly videocast featuring luminaries from technology, society and the world of STEM. Topics for discussion will include governmental and societal impacts of technology and open source as well as the role of technology and work/life balance. Perseverance in the face of adversity comes in many forms. A veteran of the United States Army, J.R. Martinez was driving his Humvee in the middle east when he hit an Improvised Explosive Device. He spent 34 months recovering from burn injuries which covered more than 34% of his body. J.R. has gone on to star in Dancing With The Stars, All My Children, and captivate audiences with his motivational speaking. He works extensively with the burn survivor community - The World Burn Congress and with Operation Finally Home to help build housing for US Veterans. Adam Clater, Chief Architect at Red Hat and JR Martinez will talk about his life experience, his involvement in the communities he continues to serve and what the future holds.
