About this talk

The Red Hat® Coffee Hour with Intel series is a monthly videocast featuring luminaries from technology, society and the world of STEM. Topics for discussion will include governmental and societal impacts of technology and open source as well as the role of technology and work/life balance. Bob Young started a dream out of his wife’s sewing closet, financed on credit cards. Little did he know that Red Hat Software, known today as Red Hat, would become a world-changing technology company. Young, a serial entrepreneur, is currently the CEO of, a print-on-demand, self-publishing book company, and the caretaker of the Canadian Football Team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. However, what he’s best known for is co-founding Red Hat in the 90’s. Bob will join Adam Clater, Chief Architect at Red Hat, to talk about the early days of open source software and building what would become the largest open source software company in the world.
