The world is rapidly approaching several critical tipping points—environmental, economic and social—that could reshape the global landscape. Several of these irreversible changes, such as extreme weather or biodiversity loss, are affecting the world economy already today. 

While global growth was better than expected in 2024, it remained uneven, with substantial regional differences. This raises questions about the potential for continued strong financial markets and stable economic performance in 2025. Much will depend on whether key tipping points are triggered.
