Is Responsible AI Actually Something Organizations Can Achieve?

Presented by

Sophie Dionnet, Nicole Alexander, Noelle Silver

About this talk

Responsible AI is the right thing to do. It ensures that end-to-end model management addresses the specific risks of AI (i.e., discriminatory biases and lack of transparency) in order to operate based on ethical standards and prevent compounding issues in the real world. We’ve been talking about it for years, we agree it needs to be done, but is anyone actually doing it well? In this session we'll share use cases from organizations who have successfully gone from theory to practice with Responsible AI and have seen benefits. Nicole Alexander leads the global web marketing practice, supporting a diverse and dynamic team of strategists, developers, engineers and operational support, for Meta. She provides long-term vision and innovation while maintaining integrity of the Meta for Business, Instagram for Business and related sites as part of the company’s largest scaled marketing channel. Additionally, Nicole holds a faculty role as a Professor of data analytics for New York University. Nicole has a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a global EMBA from TRIUM (NYU Stern, HEC Paris, and London School of Economics and Political Science). She has been a speaker at a number of industry and academic events on the topics of innovation and leadership, ethical AI, data privacy, and the societal impact of technology. Noelle Silver is a multi-award-winning technologist and entrepreneur who specializes in helping companies with emerging technology, cloud, AI and Web 3.0. She has led teams at NPR, Microsoft, IBM, AWS, and Amazon Alexa, and is a consistent champion for public understanding of the ethical use of AI and tech fluency. She is the founder of AI Leadership Institute and is an AI Executive at IBM. She recently launched InclusionInspires.com to help teach women and people of color how to use the power of technology and influence to achieve success in business.
