The Coronavirus pandemic, monetary easing, the US election and market uncertainty have caused gold markets to prosper this year, as more investors are turning to the safe-haven asset. In August, gold reached a record intra-day high of $2,074.88 per troy ounce, showing the resilience of this asset class.
In this webinar, we’ll be joined by two industry veterans, Andrew Dickey of the Royal Mint and Eric Strand of AuAg Fonder, to discuss the medium-term outlook for gold and to look back at the launch of The Royal Mint Physical Gold ETC.
Andrew is the Division Director of Precious Metals at The Royal Mint, Britain’s oldest company with a history dating back to 886 AD. Their highly secure vault near Cardiff was purpose-built in the late 1960s when the Mint moved from London to Wales, with the security apparatus originally being designed by the Ministry of Defence. Mr Dickey will provide a brief overview of the history of The Royal Mint and what behaviours can currently be seen in the gold market.
Eric Strand is the founder and portfolio manager of the AuAg Silver Bullet Fund and the recently-launched AuAg Precious Green Fund. Mr Strand will be providing a practitioner’s view of the gold market and what investors can expect in 2021.
In this webinar we will be covering:
• Introduction of the Royal Mint
• Analysis of the changes to the gold market in 2020
• Current investor sentiment
• What to expect in 2021
• Q&A
