The rapid adoption of technology and cloud computing the world saw in 2020 was unlike any other year. With people all over the world adapting to working from home and increasingly moving their lives online, technology megatrends have soared. With increased use of technology and cloud computing, the US and EU are in the process of implementing legislation that will require Big Tech companies to follow new obligations to reveal information and data to regulators to ensure content is safe and legal. It will be interesting to see what implications this could have for Big Tech companies. As Biden becomes President in January, his technology policies could have an impact on some of the larger or riskier technology stocks due to their legal challenges and Biden’s concerns around the concentration of power held by tech companies such as Facebook.
