About this talk

On October 31st, all eyes with be on Glasgow as world leaders meet for the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) with the goal of establishing ambitious emissions reductions targets by 2030 that will align with reaching net zero by 2050.  Join us for our COP26 series as we explore how ESG investments can help tackle climate change and what approaches the financial industry must adopt.  Our speakers: Gabriela Herculano, CEO and Co-Founder of iClima Earth, a London-based company that has a sole focus on the companies that can decarbonise the planet. Gabriela has 20+ years of M&A, project finance and investment management in global energy experience.  Nicholas Mersch, Associate Portfolio Manager at Purpose Investments, has worked in the capital markets industry in several capacities over the past 10 years. Areas include private equity, infrastructure finance, venture capital and technology focused equity research.   Stephen Derkash leads EQM’s Global and ESG Product initiatives. Stephen has 20+ years of global portfolio management, investment banking and equity research experience, and has worked as a Portfolio Manager at Millennium Management, a $40 billion hedge fund, and at UBS Asset Management. The financial industry is under pressure to fight climate change after the code red warning about the unprecedented impact on the planet. The change towards a low-carbon future is a risk for any investor’s portfolio. Therefore, ETFs can be used to help mitigate the risk. Investing in clean energy ETFs could be a beneficial way to help fight climate change.  In Part 1 of this series, we will be joined by climate investment experts as we explore the different options investors have in relation to reducing their emissions. We will also be looking at what they hope will emerge from COP26 and what the impact will be on the financial industry and investors.  For professional investors only. Capital at risk.
