About this talk

This year, rising rates continued to weigh on stock market valuations. However, around 17th June markets reached an inflection point. The S&P 500 and other major indices started to rally, seemingly on the belief that Federal Reserve would reverse to easier monetary policy in next few months. Despite this much needed summer relief, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite finished the second third of year in negative territory. Simultaneously, and indeed consequently, the globe became enveloped in an energy crisis. The sudden cessation of gas supply from Russia contributed to record energy price spikes and widespread concerns about how to acquire alternative energy sources, especially as winter approaches. So how did thematic ETFs hold up in this context? Join Tom Bailey, Andy Merricks and Konrad Sippel as we take a deep-dive into HANetf’s most recent Thematic Review. With the May – August 2022 Review focusing on the energy crisis and the implications on thematic ETFs, we’ll explore opinions for wealth managers and what industry experts have noticed from markets. Speakers: Konrad Sippel: Head of Research at Solactive AG Andy Merricks: Fund Manager at The IDAD Future Wealth Fund For professional investors only. Capital at risk.
