The making decisions and risk session is aimed at students in KS4-5 (14-18 years old) in the UK. Following the session, students will be able to:
•Discover why people may choose to take risks with their money
•Understand different types of financial risks and whether they carry a high, medium or low risk to an individual
•Understand how insurance and other methods can be used to protect themselves against financial risks
This webinar is an adaptation of the successful My Personal Finance Skills financial education workshops that take place in schools across the UK.
These workshops have undergone a process of piloting in schools and have also been awarded the financial education Quality Mark supported by Money Advice Service after fulfilling the following 7 criteria:
1.Developed in consultation with a teacher or educationalist and tested with young people in the target group
2.Having a dedicated Theory of Change and evaluation plan
3.Having a principle focus on financial education
4.Including opportunities for structured learning
5.Engaging and relevant for young people
6.Clearly written and easy to use
7.Containing accurate, up-to-date information and are free of branding
