The concept of consent was introduced by GDPR in 2018. It started as simple pop-up (or banner) implementations asking the users of websites and mobile apps to decide if they’re willing to share personal information for specific purposes. 4 years later, businesses are still investing heavily in optimizing their consent rates but tend to ignore how consent will be enforced throughout their entire techstack.
