Since Operators are trying to deploy 5G networks to meet the demand for more bandwidth, mission critical control and massive IoT services, they need to bring in the innovations from Cloud to Telecom network to meet the requirements for CI and CD. There is a movement to use standard IT servers to fulfill the needs of these requirements. This talk will go through x86 server based virtual RAN solution, the operator drive behind O-RAN and TIP OpenRAN and the potential benefits. Then walk through the product porfolio from Supermicro specifically for Distribute Unit (DU) and its partnership with Intel for this.
