About this talk

National policy in NHS England is to direct patients who require Urgent & Emergency Care (UEC) to NHS 111 so that they are treated in the most appropriate care setting. If the patient requires to be seen within a Provider facility (ED, UTC, SDEC etc), an appointment can be scheduled and advanced warning of a patient’s arrival sent to the receiving service. The first phase of this policy was delivered in December 2020 with a number of tactical solutions deployed due to time pressures, together with the backdrop of the Covid pandemic. There are significant advantages in providing UEC Scheduling services that are integrated into a Provider Trusts existing PAS/EPR systems to avoid administrative overheads and improve clinical safety. Join UKCloud Health as we welcome Adnan Riaz, Program Head, NHS Bookings and Referrals at NHS Digital, Nick Sinclair, Director of Operations at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and Michael Brett, CEO at WASP Software to break down the situation faced by MTW, the role tech has played in dealing with these challenges and how best NHS Trusts can use integrated UEC pathways.
