Secure cloud connectivity

In this session, Neil Fagan, CTO National Security at CISCO, focuses on securing the journey to the cloud and within the cloud. Starting with some of the key themes and trends in networking and cyber security, Neil will then follow up with explaining and discussing software defined networking (SDN) and its applicability within the cloud journey.  Finally, the session will conclude with key points on building a consistent operational model, moving to a predictive environment, and moving from a threat centric to zero trust environment and then into continuous authentication and a broader "SASE" (secure access service edge) architecture.

The shared responsibility model means that the adoption of a Secure Cloud service is a necessary first step, however this in itself is insufficient to effectively consume cloud services. Consumers still need to consider Cloud Security for workloads running in these such environments. Join VMware for a discussion on what steps both providers and consumers of cloud service should consider to achieve acceptable risk management levels for their respective organisations.

  • Integrating NHS 111 First Appointment Scheduling Recorded: Sep 16 2021 30 mins
UKCloud Health, Michael Brett - WASP Software, Adnan Riaz - NHS Digital and Nick Sinclair - MTW NHS Trust
National policy in NHS England is to direct patients who require Urgent & Emergency Care (UEC) to NHS 111 so that they are treated in the most appropriate care setting. If the patient requires to be seen within a Provider facility (ED, UTC, SDEC etc), an appointment can be scheduled and advanced warning of a patient’s arrival sent to the receiving service. The first phase of this policy was delivered in December 2020 with a number of tactical solutions deployed due to time pressures, together with the backdrop of the Covid pandemic.

There are significant advantages in providing UEC Scheduling services that are integrated into a Provider Trusts existing PAS/EPR systems to avoid administrative overheads and improve clinical safety. Join UKCloud Health as we welcome Adnan Riaz, Program Head, NHS Bookings and Referrals at NHS Digital, Nick Sinclair, Director of Operations at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and Michael Brett, CEO at WASP Software to break down the situation faced by MTW, the role tech has played in dealing with these challenges and how best NHS Trusts can use integrated UEC pathways.

  • Next gen technologies: Data collaboration & analytics without data sharing Recorded: May 19 2021 34 mins
    Sally Sfeir-Tait, CEO at RegulAItion
In order to reveal insights from data, organisations historically had to share, move or pool data. Multiple regulatory, security and privacy barriers meant that organisations could not access the knowledge present in their data or in the data of other organisations they work with. Advances in technology have changed this. Data can now be available for analytics while remaining under the control of the data holder. This talk explores how next generation technologies such as privacy enhancing techniques and federated learning enable organisations to get the insight they need from their data and from other organisations’ data without ever sharing the data through a complete solution that can be tailored to their security, privacy, data compliance and data governance requirements.
