Lessons Learned from the Edge

Edge computing is all the rage these days, being driven by the exploding bandwidth and low latency needs of real-time applications, especially those for IoT and 5G applications. In fact, edge computing is expected to grow into a multi-billion dollar market in the next 5 years. By processing time-sensitive data closer to where it is consumed, edge computing offers improved application performance and a much higher quality of experience to enable new types of IoT applications and digital services.

But creating edge computing solutions present many challenges. These solutions usually have many components and vendors, making them complex to design, implement, operate and maintain. Targeting those working in product management, planning, architecture, Dev/Ops, Dev/Test, operations and procurement, this webinar focuses on lessons we have learned in designing, implementing, and operating Edge Computing platforms.

Arshad Khan, one of Fujitsu’s most seasoned Solution Architecture & Software Integration managers, will share first-hand experience and valuable tips on how to ensure your edge computing solutions are successful. Afterwards, Ralph Santitoro, head of Digital Services at Fujitsu, will provide a brief overview of Fujitsu’s Edge Computing services that address these challenges.

  • The Road to Broadband Recorded: Aug 26 2020 11 mins
    Anthony Bednarczyk
Broadband has quickly become the fourth utility. It is essential for communities to grow and thrive. Yet, many communities today, especially in rural areas, do not have broadband connectivity. Just as they built the necessary infrastructure to bring electricity to their communities in the 1930’s and 1940’s, electric co-operatives want to improve the lives of rural Americans by building broadband networks in their communities today.

As you start down the road to broadband, what should you consider to ensure success? To find out, please join Anthony Bednarczyk, Head of Fujitsu Broadband Practice, in this webinar where he will discuss the steps that every broadband project follows.

This webinar is directed at CEO’s, general managers, CTO’s and board of director members of rural electric co-ops, municipal electric utilities, counties, or cities, especially those seeking Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) funding. This first webinar in our broadband series, uses a real case study to illustrate one municipality’s journey down the road to broadband. You will find out what it took for them to build their network, how long it took and the result they obtained.
