About this talk

What's new in DLP 16 On 19th October, join Bruce Ong (Head of DLP Product Management) as he explains what's new in Symantec DLP 16 and how this new release addresses the challenges our customers are facing. Symantec DLP 16 provides a host of new capabilities that will make networks safer and the lives of DLP administrators easier, including enhanced incident response, improved compliance, high-speed discovery, and enhanced and new support for non-Windows platforms. We'll Cover the Following: ● Enhanced Detection - Enhanced and simplified detection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with improved support for Linux and Mac endpoints. Improved detection performance now enables 1TB/hour file system scanning and 3x improvement in Data Identifier pattern matching. ● Better Protection - Extended integrations with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) for Outlook allows scanned email content to be assigned a MIP tag or for the correct protection to be applied. ● Zero Trust User Risk Context - Information Centric Analytics (ICA) user risk is now incorporated into DLP policies. ● Faster Incident Response - Alerts contain better context and mask sensitive data to allow responders to react faster while remaining compliant. ● In-Product Alerts and Streamlined Upgrades - A ‘DLP News’ alert shows important messages to DLP Administrators. Improved ‘Live Update’ allows software upgrades to be managed from the Enforce console with DLP policies supporting multiple software versions during upgrades. ● Support for more DLP Use Cases - Full support for IPV6 and 3rd party certificates enables DLP Administrators to support remote users without resorting to, for example, VPN. New RESTful APIs also allow DLP to integrate further into a customer’s wider security infrastructure.
