  • WealthTech Talks: A Paperless Wealth Banking Experience – Why and How Mar 25 2021 2:00 pm UTC 60 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder, The Wealth Mosaic
While much of the new technologies available to wealth managers exist to enhance and add value to various aspects of their businesses, especially to the relationship between advisers and clients, a core focus for many wealth management organisations remains cost efficiency and the streamlining of many, if not all, of their legacy paper-based, manual and time inefficient processes. In an environment where the cost-income ratio is under far greater pressure than has been the historic norm, wealth managers must find ways to bring greater efficiencies to their business, to do more with less, to strip out unnecessary costs and improve productivity. The benefits of these moves can then be felt throughout the organisation whether in terms of cost, return on investment, employee and client satisfaction, business value and more.

In this webinar, we will focus our sights on the key processes that can be enhanced by a paperless approach. We will look at two aspects that are fundamental to how to approach this topic: the digitization of specific banking processes (such as onboarding) and the streamlining of vertical system architectures (such as business process management (BPM)). Our discussion will look at several individual process areas which can benefit from a paperless approach and consider what needs to happen to see results, while also looking at those vertical elements like BPM which can be applied across the business and consider how that can be done.

Hosted by The Wealth Mosaic’s Co-Founder, Stephen Wall, this webinar will feature Ludovic Balace, Global Head of Pre-Sales at New Access, and other soon to be announced panelists. The panel will establish the background and reasons why this topic is important for wealth managers and how firms of varying size and profile can set about delivering a paperless wealth banking experience.
  • WealthTech Talks: Delivering a Modern Tech Infrastructure for Wealth Managers Recorded: Feb 17 2021 59 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder, The Wealth Mosaic
Technology is one of the leading drivers of change across the wealth management sector and the pace of change is seen to be heading in one direction only - faster. To respond and stay up to date, relevant and competitive at all levels, wealth management firms big and small need to deliver a capable, flexible and efficient technology infrastructure. They can no longer rely on yesteryear’s technologies. Delivering this infrastructure is, of course, easier said than done. On this webinar, we will speak with the panelists to hear their views on how the wealth management firm can deliver the modern technology infrastructure for their clients, advisers and all aspects of their business.

Hosted by The Wealth Mosaic’s Co-Founder, Stephen Wall, and featuring Josh Cogan, Associate Partner, Head of Banking, UK, at Synpulse, Mahesh Bulchandani, CEO and Director, Europe, at FinIQ, and Matteo de Marchi, Head of Product Innovation at Finantix, this webinar will delve into the topic of what constitutes the modern technology infrastructure for wealth managers and how firms can deliver it. Stephen will ask the panel to establish why this theme is so important, what has led us to this point (drivers of change), what the status of the marketplace is in its current delivery of a modern technology infrastructure, what challenges it faces in delivery, the opportunities from delivery and more.

Join us on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at 10am UK time to tune in.
  • WealthTech Talks: Adviser, Client, Business - Where to invest now? Recorded: Feb 11 2021 61 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder, The Wealth Mosaic
The fact that wealth management firms must invest in their technology infrastructure is clear. Even for the few remaining doubters. The Covid-19 pandemic has also shone a penetrating light on the lack of technological capability of some firms. Across their advisers, clients and their broader business, where should a wealth manager invest now, how do they determine the focus and what do they gain from the investment? With so much change across various aspects of their business, how does a wealth management firm start the process, do they rip out and replace, do they build on what they already have, how do they determine whether to buy or build, how do they navigate and select from the growing marketplace of vendors and how do they deliver value beyond the immediate here and now?

These are some of the areas we will explore in this webinar. Hosted by The Wealth Mosaic’s Co-Founder, Stephen Wall, and featuring Antony Bream, MD – UK, Northern Europe & Americas at Wealth Dynamix, Nikolai Hack, Head of Strategy & Partnerships at Nucoro, and Tessa Lee, Managing Director, moneyinfo, we will get into the details on where a wealth management firms should invest in its technology infrastructure now and where, adviser focused, client focused, business focused or elsewhere.

  • WealthTech Talks: Designing an engaging experience with technology Recorded: Feb 4 2021 61 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder, The Wealth Mosaic
In the modern era of wealth management, how does a wealth management firm engage prospects and clients? Maybe it is no longer just about the brand and heritage, a personal referral and the offer of a personal service? Or, if these factors remain at the forefront, with the increasing role of technology in every part of our lives, how do wealth managers incorporate these elements into their design and deliver an equally engaging experience with technology at the forefront? Is it as simple as moving their offline experience online? Technology has made so much of our lives easier but the design of an engaging experience for clients is perhaps an area where wealth management has not yet ventured significantly?

How should a wealth manager think about designing a technology-led experience for their clients, what do they need to consider, where should they look to learn what works and what doesn’t work, what is the mix of design versus technology, how does this experience mix with the traditional experience of a wealth management firm? These are some of the areas we will explore in this webinar. Hosted by The Wealth Mosaic’s Co-Founder, Stephen Wall, and featuring Jaime Bolivar, Managing Director of TechRules, Theo Paraskevopoulos, CEO of Invessed, and possibly one more guest.

  • WealthTech Talks: Enhancing financial planning for UK wealth managers Recorded: Jan 29 2021 61 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder, The Wealth Mosaic
The importance of financial planning proposition to engage and service clients in the modern wealth management sector is clear. For the modern wealth manager, seeking to support their clients with professional knowledge and guidance, being able to support their clients with a financial planning capability is an increasingly important requirement.

Heightened financial complexity due to a changing financial products marketplace, the impact of similarly complex tax rules, alongside the depth of regulation and the risk of non-compliance, means financial planning is both a great opportunity to deepen client relationships for UK wealth managers as well as a clear challenge. As with many other areas of need and opportunity in the wealth management sector, there is clearly a strong case for modern technology tools to enhance, scale and build out the offering.

In this webinar, Stephen Wall, Co-Founder of The Wealth Mosaic, will host James Howell, Director at PwC Wealth Management Consulting, Jamie Keen, Country Manager UK & Ireland at aixigo, and Ian Pickford, Partner and Head of Financial Planning and Wealth Management at Mazars, to delve deeper into what role financial planning has today in the wealth management sector and how dedicated and modern technology can further enhance the offering.

Specifically, Stephen will ask the panel to consider the driving forces of change behind the need for financial planning in the sector, the challenges wealth management firms face in delivery, how technology is currently employed, what firms have in their development roadmap and where technology needs to be improved to better support, where the enhanced use of technology in this area can take wealth management firms and what more we might see in the future as technology is increasingly used to support financial planning.

  • Using tech to bring financial planning to the heart of wealth management Recorded: Jan 8 2021 61 mins
Mario Bassi, Senior Adviser, Business Development, APAC, The Wealth Mosaic
The importance of a financial planning proposition to engage and service clients in the modern wealth management sector is increasingly clear. The demand from clients is rising as they realise the importance in planning their financial lives for retirement and more broadly, the complexity of the process requires professional knowledge and guidance, the role of regulation is driving engagement, and also consequences for non-compliance in areas such as suitability, while wealth managers also see the benefit of delivering financial planning from the perspective of forming deeper and more resilient client relationships. With greater need, more complexity, diversity of products, stricter regulations and a need for the means to engage clients, there is very clearly also a leading role for technology in bringing financial planning to as many clients as possible.

In this webinar, Mario Bassi, Senior Advisor at The Wealth Mosaic, will host Guillaume Foucard, Product Manager at Finantix, Andreas Mettenberger, Head of Business Innovation & Growth Hong Kong, Director, Synpulse, and Matt Heine, Joint Managing Director, Netwealth, to delve deeper into what role financial planning has today in the wealth management sector and how technology can further enhance the offering. Specifically, the panel will discuss the driving forces of change in the financial planning sector, the challenges facing the financial planning industry, what the wealth management industry can deliver through the use of technology, how retirement strategies differ per region / country and what that means for the technology, the technology roadmap and more on what we might see looking forward.

Stephen Wall, Co-Founder & Head of Marketplace & Content, The Wealth Mosaic
Earlier in 2020, we (The Wealth Mosaic) spoke to a select group of executives from leading wealth management firms in Switzerland to collate and understand their views on how technology can enhance the relationships between the advisers and client. We collected their views on the client-adviser relationship through the different stages of the client lifecycle from the client discovery and prospecting stage, through to onboarding and into the relationship management stage. Specifically, we sought their views and experiences on aspects such as:

    • The state of play today and the challenges and pain points faced
    • The multiple opportunities they see from the deployment of new technologies and tools
    • Their current development activities and thinking where to improve in each area and we will consider what is working and what might be best practice to improve the client-adviser relationship with technology and other means.

In this webinar, we will highlight the main findings of the research and where this group of Swiss wealth management executives see the role of technology today and into the future enhancing the adviser-client relationship. With the backdrop of COVID-19 through 2020 forcing new ways of working and new speed of adoption, the role and advantage of technology has been widely embraced, we’ll talk to guests including Francois de Lescure, MD – Southern Europe at Wealth Dynamix, Christian Gmünder, Head Private Clients Operations & Services at Vontobel, Loïc Paquotte, Director at Chappuis Halder, and Cyril Bouchu, Principal - Managing Director, Head of Institutional Coverage at Decisive Capital Management, to see where technology can make the biggest impact in the adviser-client relationship, where it is being deployed now and to what effect, where are the easy wins and what the broader future holds for an enhanced and technology-enabled adviser-client relationship in wealth management.

  • WealthTech Talks: Upscaling advice with Next Best Action Recorded: Dec 8 2020 58 mins
Stephen Wall, Co-Founder & Head of Marketplace & Content, The Wealth Mosaic
In the modernising wealth management marketplace, the ability to deliver more personalised, engaging and insightful advisory services for the benefit of both the end client as well as the relationship managers serving them will be fundamental. Powered by new tools and technologies in the realm of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), we are moving into a world where the homogenisation of old will not be accepted by many. To differentiate for both the relationship manager and the client in the future will be about a deeper understanding of the individual and their needs, storytelling and a greater customisation of the wealth management service offering. A significant part of this in the arena of Next Best Actions where a one-size fits all approach is increasingly a thing of yesteryear.

In this webinar, we will speak with Boris Rankov, Head of Product at InCube Group (a Finantix company), and Dan Jones, Partner - Digital & Financial Services at Oliver Wyman, about Next Best Actions and how, specifically in the area of financial advice, data and AI tools can support the client and relationship with more personalised and scalable advice. The discussion will look at the pressures faced by wealth management firms today and, in turn, their relationship managers, how the market is responding to those demands today and how developments in areas such as Machine Learning can support the leveraging of data from multiple sources to enhance both the client and the relationship manager experience in wealth management.

There are numerous solutions for financial cashflow planning in the market. Many of them are so complex that only experienced advisers can make sense of them. Others are too simplistic and do not have the depth or breadth needed. Indeed, cashflow advice is highly complex. A wide variety of assets including insurance policies, property and pensions must be considered, while there are also tax implications and many additional macro elements that need to be incorporated into planning scenarios such as the impact of any market volatility, inflation, downturn, changes in tax regimes and the like. For advisers, it is extremely difficult to consider all contributing factors rules both in isolation and alongside each other.

In this webinar with Jamie Keen, Country Manager UK & Ireland at aixigo, we will explore how the adviser can add value to the client and client relationship with cashflow planning, planning for every eventuality while also staying within the boundaries of compliance. As well as giving a backdrop to the current status of the market, its requirements and the solutions available, Jamie will introduce aixigo’s solution, the Cashflow Planner, highlighting how it delivers on its compliance requirements, offers a superior user experience, is easy to understand but is also powerful in supporting an extensive range of cashflow simulations as part of the advice process.

The session will include an introduction to the topic, a brief demonstration of the key components of the solution, a Q&A session between Stephen and Jamie and a chance for the audience to ask questions at the end.
