About this talk

Most of Asia, particularly North Asia, has fared relatively well in containing the spread of the coronavirus, with many investors' interest now focused on the reopening of economies. While, in many ways, the prospects for economic and corporate profit growth appear attractive relative to the rest of the world, the picture is diverse across the region and many significant risks to the recovery remain. To assess the current dynamics and more, join us for our virtual conference, on 26 May at 10:00am BST / 11:00am CET, where we will be bringing together two expert panels from our investment teams based in London and Asia, who will seek to share their knowledge and insights to help inform your decision-making. The opening session will consider the top down market and macro dimensions of the current environment and the implications for asset allocation in Asia. Our panellists will assess the outlook for the regional economy, including risks to the recovery, the threat of inflation, monetary and fiscal policy, geopolitical factors to watch, as well as market rotation, the resurgence of value and what it all means for Asian assets and currencies. In the second panel, our experienced EM and Asia equity portfolio managers will bring their bottom-up perspectives to analyse the risks and opportunities at a country, sector and stock level. They’ll discuss some of the areas they’re investing in today, including the digitisation of Asian economies, change and innovation, and China’s green transition.
