In this keynote from the AI Summit New York 2018, Ritesh Patel, chief digital officer for advertising and PR giant Ogilvy, talks about the relationship between humans and machines through the lens of conversational interfaces.
He describes current issues facing chatbots, the benefits of this technology when implemented properly, and the pitfalls of crowdsourcing data – all peppered with real-life examples.
The session includes interesting facts and figures on a multitude of chatbots, with a special focus on those deployed in healthcare.
"Everything we're doing is focused on the technology," Patel said.
"Chatbots, which are all the rage at the moment, are all about deploying a piece of technology. We're putting things in place that we believe will change the interaction, but the reality is we're missing a moment, and a piece of what we need to do: what do people want to do with this technology?"
"We have forgotten the humans."
