    Die Frage lautet also

  • Re-building an antifragile supply chain Recorded: May 13 2020 54 mins
Mikkel Hippe Brun, Tradeshift and Mads Stolberg-Larsen, Tradeshift
The COVID-19, or coronavirus, outbreak is causing significant disruption to global supply chains. When it is brought under control we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief, but the impact this crisis has had, have and might have ahead is putting a finger on increased need for insight, transparency and agility.

During this session Mikkel Hippe Brun, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Greater China at Tradeshift will share his experiences in helping businesses across the globe collaborate and interact digitally. [Before Mikkel shares his experiences Mads Stolberg-Larsen, Head of Fintech and blockchain in Tradeshift Frontiers and long-time student of Nassim Taleb’s* writings, will introduce the concept of Anti-fragility.]

In our globalized world, the supply chain becomes a company’s biggest risk – but also one of it’s biggest assets – during times of disruption.

There is a lot of talk about robust supply chains. Anti-fragile supply chains aren’t just strong, they’re malleable to ensure they continue working no matter the disruption. But, most crucially, they don’t just survive the disruption—they improve because of it.

In this on-demand webinar, you will hear from our speakers about:

    - What are the signs of a robust versus fragile supply chain?
    - How can you evaluate how to strengthen your supply chain weak spots?
    - How can businesses better prepare for periods of supply chain disruption?
    - How can a digital foundation help the supply chain become anti-fragile?
    - Is it time to rethink the structure of global supply chains?

    * Nassim Taleb coined the term “Anti-fragile”

  • Shift Happens! What’s in ‘Store’? Recorded: Apr 22 2020 46 mins
    Nick Hunt, Tradeshift
Nearly all global companies are being affected by the current pandemic, none more so than those in the Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector. Whilst there are some winners, the majority of retailers and CPG companies are less fortunate and the focus now is on survival through cost reduction and importantly preparation for the future bounce-back.

Retail and CPG companies need to plan how to become more adaptive in the future; this means becoming more digital, closer collaboration with the supply chain, making early payments available to all suppliers, as well as managing the difficult long-tail spend.

Tradeshift is about connecting every company in the world and creating economic opportunity for all. We can help retail and CPG companies become more adaptive, better able to deal with the ‘margin squeeze’ and improve the opportunity for business continuity.

During this session, we will discuss the strategies you can take to:

    1. Enhance supplier relationships and business processes ready for the “bounce back”
    2. Distribute funds through your supply chain, improving cash-flow and goodwill to your suppliers
    3. Digitize and control spend management for the 80% of suppliers in your long-tail spend

  • Shift Happens! Bracing for an Economic Storm Recorded: Apr 22 2020 51 mins
Jon Vass Global Account Director, Airlines & Logistics at Tradeshift
The $800B logistics and transportation industry has had a great couple of years but started to see a global slowdown well before the outbreak of the Coronavirus. A once-booming industry is now faced with major disruption of global supply chains as shipping volumes decline, then potentially spike in just a few months. That will drive a corresponding increase in A/P processing.

What is your business continuity plan? By converting invoices from paper to electronic invoices you’ll ensure access to it from anywhere, at any time. That helps your organization minimize supply chain disruption and eliminate company-wide downtime, giving your suppliers complete transparency and confidence. Your suppliers are the lifeblood of the organization!

During a slowdown, successful companies work closely with their suppliers and accelerate payments. The scale of the slowdown is having a significant impact on liquidity, with an increasing number of large organizations saying they are looking at ways to build or maintain cash reserves. Tradeshift is actively working with customers to advise on measures to ease liquidity pressures and get working capital flowing through the supply chain. There is an easy answer for this to distribute funds through the supply chain right now.

In this on-demand webinar, listen in as Jon Vass, Global Account Director for Airlines & Logistics, discusses how sellers can get the funds they need to cope, or, in some cases, survive during these economic times.
