Presented by

Laura Francis, Nursing Professional Development Specialist; Chris Parvin, EUC Architect

About this talk

When patients enter the Operating Room (OR) for surgery, hospitals and health systems need to ensure that patients and clinical staff have a high level of confidence in successful outcomes. Therefore, attention to OR preparedness, especially for new OR team members, must be a high priority. By using simulated environments with audio and powerful imagery to create real world scenarios, virtual reality (VR) is fast becoming an ideal way to teach, and for students to retain, knowledge. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has made relying more heavily on VR a necessity. The University Hospitals in Cleveland is at the cutting edge of this trend to prepare perioperative nurses for the real OR experience. PeriopSim by Conquer Experience, innovative training, takes into account not only student and educator experience but also how to deploy and manage this technology across the University Hospitals in Cleveland. In this webinar, learn how VR: - Streamlines orientation process and reduces training time - Deepens student engagement and empowerment - Enables educators to foster independent learning in a user-friendly environment - Helps to deploy secure, manageable enterprise-ready devices in high-performing mobile workstations
