About this talk

In this webinar, we provide three examples of what we think are consensus views held by investors that could potentially be wrong. Each proposition will have a significant impact in equity market leadership if it turns out to be unsubstantiated. Namely Inflation is dead, Bond yields will remain low and Growth will outperform value. We highlight the potential benefits to Value based funds when investor confidence improves, either on the strength of the economic recovery, if there were signals of rising inflation and bond yields, or investors seriously consider what is ‘priced-in’ to many valuations in the technology sector. Any sort of correction would appear to have some way to go. During Q4 we will have US Elections, a likely stimulus package from the new administration, perhaps more from Europe too, maybe a Brexit deal and potentially a vaccine to Covid as several Phase III Trials read out over the next few months. The equity landscape might be quite different and potentially there is much in the above that is likely to be favourable to Value based investors. With all this in mind, we go through the positioning of the TB Saracen Global Income & Growth fund and highlight some of its quality holdings and the favourable valuation and yield on the fund.
