About this talk

Data is the critical cog driving today’s modern organizations. In a recent ESG research study, 65% of organizations reported that they used 3 or more cloud service providers. And 63% of those same organizations use multiple IaaS or PaaS cloud service providers with the same application hosted across the multiple providers. For these organizations, data powers their applications and success lies in extracting insight and making data available to applications across service provider boundaries. With the right hybrid and multi-cloud strategy in place, ESG has modeled that organizations can lower their cost of cloud storage up to 84% per month. With the amount of data organizations acquire growing exponentially, storing data in a public cloud and downloading or moving data across clouds is becoming increasingly expensive. As a result of this, many organizations are repatriating their applications - moving them away from public clouds and back onto on-premise or private cloud infrastructures. In this 45-minute discussion, ESG Senior Analyst Rob Strechay joins speakers from Rackspace to explore strategies organizations can implement to lower storage-related costs and remove the barriers to a multi-cloud vision. In this panel we’ll cover: Why companies are requiring multi-cloud data access How to reduce your cloud storage costs What are the risks of storing data in a public cloud? And more…
