With health and safety concerns about the management of tailings in the limelight, this session will look at how investors can proactively identify ESG gaps in the mining sector. In this session, we will: • discuss how to address the fact that the full extent of ESG risks posed by tailings dams in the mining sector is unknown; • explore how new technologies are impacting business models and improving safety standards, as well as opening new income streams; • identify other gaps in governance practices that investors should consider.
