What and why investors need to know about soil health

Investors have been engaged on agricultural related topics such as deforestation, water, food security and climate but little attention has been paid to the importance of soil health and its foundational role in all of these issues, as well as with respect to supporting decent farmer livelihoods. PRI will host a webinar to raise awareness and to build the business case on why investors should pay attention to soil health. It will highlight the risks that all investors are exposed to and explore the opportunities available to them. The webinar will cover: 1. Why soil health is important to companies throughout the food sector and the risks and opportunities investors are exposed to; 2. Regenerative agriculture as one approach to improving soil health and the associated benefits for businesses and resilient communities; 3. How investors can integrate soil health with other agriculture-related topics and what they should engage companies on which is specific to soil health.
