About this talk

The responsibility of institutional investors to respect human rights is reflected in international human rights standards, and constitute a universal, normative expectation by employees, beneficiaries, clients, governments, and wider society. It was clearly defined by the UN in 2011, following extensive stakeholder consultation, and immediately reflected in OECD standards. These expectations have increased – driven by growing visibility and urgency of many human rights issues – and a better understanding of the role of investors in shaping real-world outcomes. In this webinar we will speak about PRI’s human rights programme – why and how investors should respect human rights – and provide signatories and other stakeholders with an opportunity to ask questions as part of a formal PRI consultation on the topic. Speakers: Fiona Reynolds, CEO, PRI Nikolaj Halkjaer Pedersen, Senior Specialist, Sustainable Markets, PRI
