This session will provide an introduction to the PRI’s minimum requirements for investor signatories reporting in 2023. The presenters will provide an overview of the background to the PRI’s minimum requirements and explain what the PRI expects of its signatories to meet them. Participants will learn how to identify the minimum requirements when reporting and leave the session with an understanding of how PRI engages with signatories that do not meet them. 

We will also host a moderated Q&A session, where participants can ask questions about the PRI’s minimum requirements.

PRI Minimum Requirements for Investor Signatories in the 2023 Reporting Cycle

This session will focus on the PRI’s upcoming report on climate data. It will offer insights on what data are needed by investors to support their net zero commitments and the gaps between investors’ data needs and what is provided by the market. Participants will leave the session with an understanding of what actions can be taken by investors, data and service providers, and other stakeholders to build a data ecosystem that supports the transition to a net-zero economy.

2023 PRI Reporting Cycle: Accessing and Navigating the Reporting Tool

This session will explore the work of the ISSB and its implications for responsible investors. Participants will gain insight into the timeline and key decisions underlying the first set of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the ISSB’s future agenda and its cooperation with GRI, and how investors can support the adoption of a global baseline of corporate sustainability-related reporting.

A global baseline for corporate sustainability reporting: investor implications

Investors require data to be decision-useful, in order to inform their investment process and (increasingly) their disclosure. Given the diversity in responsible investors, a key question for regulators, standard setters, investors and many others is: how do you decide what is decision-useful data? The session will consider this question from multiple perspectives and outline the PRI’s thinking through its forthcoming research on Investor Data Needs. Participants will leave the session with an overview of how the market is working to untangle responsible investors’ data needs and how they can engage with the PRI on its work.

As biodiversity loss reaches unprecedented rates, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework provides a framework for bold action and policy alignment, with a clear call to align public and private financial flows with its goal to “halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030”. This webinar will explore actions that leading investors are undertaking to contribute to this goal and discuss how investors look to support both climate and nature goals.

Stepping up on biodiversity: how are investors taking action since COP15?

This session, co-hosted by the PRI and the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance (EMIA), will help investors and other market participants understand where to find countries’ ESG data, what it shows, and how to use it. The World Bank will also present the new version of its Sovereign ESG Data Portal, which has many potential applications for government bond investors.

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), which was adopted in end of 2022 begins our 'peace treaty with nature' and is in line with the Paris climate agreement’s calls on private sector actors to play a key role in delivering its apex goal to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030. The Paris equivalent for 2.1.C is goal D, which calls upon adequate resources available to implement the agreement, particularly to more vulnerable countries, progressively closing the $700 billion per year finance gap for biodiversity. UNEP’s State of Finance for Nature report calls for tripling investments in nature-based solutions by 2030. 

In this webinar, we present the headline outcomes of the GBF for the financial sector. We will also zoom in on how financial institutions, via blended finance solutions, can help to substantially and progressively increase the level of financial resources from all sources to implement national biodiversity strategies and action plans in line with target 19. We will present innovative solutions from project developers and conservation organisations who are already working to close the global biodiversity funding gap, and dive into the role that sovereign sustainability-linked bonds can play.

This webinar marked the launch of the public consultation of ASCOR, a new tool which gives investors, issuers and other stakeholders a common understanding of sovereign adaptation to climate change and of how governments plan to transition to a low-carbon economy. Participants learned how to use the ASCOR framework and about opportunities to engage and provide feedback to enhance it, during the current pilot phase.
