At Ciena, we don’t fear complexity. We’ve combined automation and intelligence in a scalable, programmable, and flexible network that thrives on complexity – getting smarter every day. We call it the Adaptive Network. Because survival of the fittest means survival of the most adaptive.
Managing the constantly shifting demands on your network requires a new vision for mastering complexity. You need your network to adapt as quickly as its environment. Built on the most responsive infrastructure in the business, Ciena's Adaptive Network combines intelligent automation, real-time analytics, and the ability to scale and tune a programmable infrastructure.
That’s more than automation – that’s adaptation. Let us show you how. Get ready to adapt.
By 2021, there will be an estimated 2.57 billion gamers globally. The now $152-billion-a-year global gaming phenomenon just keeps growing. Ciena takes you to ESL One, an esports tournament that’s streamed by millions around the world, to learn more about the newest sports phenomenon.
Providing connectivity and technology to large events has always been a big challenge, but that’s magnified when the network is the platform over which the event takes place. When milliseconds mean the difference between victory and defeat to billions of gamers, it’s no longer just a battle for bandwidth—it’s the fight for the fittest network.
That means being able to adapt, to dynamically scale—leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to reach new levels of agility so your network can instantaneously allocate capacity where and when it’s needed most.
And it just so happens, that’s Ciena’s game. The Adaptive Network means next-gen readiness for a gamified world. Is your network ready to play?

Network operators are getting ready to support the new applications and use cases that 5G will enable. However, to ensure the future success of 5G, it’s fundamental to understand the associated network requirements. Nowhere is this truer than in the xHaul transport networks—fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul—that will dictate end-to-end network performance.
Important xHaul transport network requirements include Segment Routing, Time-Sensitive Networking, FlexEthernet, and eCPRI, as well as strict timing and synchronization. Programmability and intelligent automation are also essential to simplify the deployment and operation of the infrastructure in a dynamic environment, and to enable Network Slicing.
Ray Mota, ACG Research, and Vinicius Santos, Ciena, will discuss industry insights, views, and strategies to successfully prepare the network for the 5G transformation.
Beyond significant increases in performance, openness and automation will allow 5G to enable an entirely new generation of connectivity services. Network automation software can be used to create multiple, unique virtual network slices over common physical infrastructure and generate new revenue streams. This webinar includes a comprehensive review of network slicing and what’s required to make it a functional and commercial success, from the automaton software layer to the underlying programmable packet-optical infrastructure layer.
