About this talk

We have no chance of decarbonising our society without intensive use of metals, many of which must be newly dug out of the ground. ESG investors, therefore, cannot ignore the sector. However, there have been many high-profile incidents of miners and materials companies exhibiting practices which do not align with the ‘E’ and the ‘S’ in ESG to say the least. What is the actual track record of the sector? How are mining and materials companies lessening their impact, and what will the cost of these measures be? Professional investors can expect to gain an understanding of the environmental impact of mining companies in particular, as well as an overview of the green capital projects that these companies are undertaking to diminish this impact.

NTree’s goal is to educate European investors on the investment opportunities in the Chinese and Commodities markets. As the Chinese economy continues to grow at breakneck pace and China remains at the forefront in innovation in high-tech sectors, the investment case for China is stronger than ever. Meanwhile, world market volatility further highlights the necessity for European investors to consider adding Commodities to their portfolios both for diversification, and for momentum. We believe that both phenomena are inextricably linked, and present unique opportunities to the discerning investor - we intend to support investors in uncovering those opportunities.
