Clinicians need more support than ever. To support increasingly busy clinicians, we’ve created a new generation in clinical decision support—UpToDate® Advanced. This solution helps clinicians to make faster, safe decisions by providing an extra level of expert guidance amidst uncertainty or complex cases.

We developed UpToDate Advanced to address clinician knowledge gaps, which we identified by analysing search data from UpToDate-used in over half of NHS acute Trusts.

Evidence-based decision trees guide users through critical decision points in each topic pathway. These features follow clinician logic and seek to help clinicians consider all factors before recording decisions in the EPR. Guides to abnormal test results, for example, provide clinicians actionable recommendations when the next steps are unclear after diagnostic testing.

Dr. K. Nadeem Ahmed is the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for The Aga Khan University (AKU) and its global network of hospitals. He leads the clinical teams involved in the planning, implementation, and optimization of all clinical technology systems that support the delivery of high-quality patient care, medical education, research, and to support AKU’s clinical strategic plans. 

Dr Jacob M. Poo is a qualified medical doctor and Corporate Account Executive and Healthcare Advisor at MEDITECH SA where he focuses on assisting public sector healthcare providers to maximise the benefit from their HCIS investments through learning and implementing international best practice.

Michael Miller – is International MediSpan Alliance Manager for Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Effectiveness. With a background in healthcare technology platform development, Michael is responsible for working with healthcare providers around the world to design and implement drug screening solutions that reduce error and boost patient safety.
