Moderator: Georgina Hallett, Chief Sustainability Officer, LME Speakers: Ben Dixon, Partner, SYSTEMIQ Chris Bayliss, Deputy Secretary General, International Aluminium Institute Sara Olsson, Sustainability Advisor, Boliden Smelters Ben Dixon leads SYSTEMIQ’s portfolio of activities focused on the circular economy transition in multiple sectors including consumer goods, food, mobility, plastics, mining and metals. He works with multinational companies, governments, investors, NGOs and foundations. Chris Bayliss is the Deputy Secretary General of the International Aluminium Institute. He has 18 years’ industry experience working on sustainability and climate related issues. Currently, Chris is taking forward the industry’s greenhouse gas pathways and health portfolios. Sara has a background with a master in material science and engineering and a master in management studies. She is chairing the Environmental team and the ESG program at Boliden Smelters. They aim to create a low carbon and responsible value chain. Where among other things - circularity and resource efficiency are key success factors. This webinar is part of the LME Sustainability series, where we focus on some of the key themes arising from our recent discussion paper. We aim to bring together perspectives from across the metals supply chain, as well as other commodities industries, to discuss the transition to a sustainable future for metals and mining. We discuss the unique challenges facing metals, as well as best practice examples from other industries. The webinar will be a 40-minute panel discussion, followed by open Q&A from the audience.
